GOVERNING COUNCIL
The commitment of the once who are member of the Governing Council of the Foundation is to guarantee the continuity of the vision of don Gino Rigoldi.
People and associations that share the same values and work hard to translate them in real works.
Don Gino Rigoldi was born in Milan on the 30th October 1939.
At the age of 13, he started working as a workman in a small company of electronic devices, where later he became an employee.
When he was 18 years old, he decided to enter the seminary of Venegono. He was ordained priest in 1967, until 1971 has done his ministry at the Archiepiscopal College De Filippi in Varese. Later he was moved as an assistant in a parish in San Donato Milanese.
In 1972 he asked and got to become the chaplain of the penal institute for minors Cesare Beccaria, work he still does. He inaugurates the first three housing community: houses where boys lived with don Gino and the educators, attending school and playing sports and doing free time activities in the quarters.
In December 1973, he founded, and from that time on he is its president, the association Comunità Nuova Onlus. The association encourages the personal and social growth of people, especially of youth, who are in marginalization or in risk of marginalization or without means to develop their project for life.
In 1999 he founded the association Bambini in Romania onlus, of which he is still president, for the training and the sending of volunteers, from 16 years old on, in orphanages and welcome community for minors in Romania.
In 2012 he promoted the social housing project “Abit@giovani” to give the opportunity to under 35yo people to buy or rent a house with equal prices and to involve them in a process of revitalization of the social relationships in quarters. Thanks to the participation of Regione Lombardia, Aler Milano, Fondazione Cariplo, Fondo Immobiliare di Lombardia e Fondazione Housign Sociale, the project can make available by the end of the year more than 200 apartments.
In 2014 he received the honoris causa degree at the Università degli studi di Milano in “public and business communication”.

Pierfilippo Pozzi was born in Udine in 1964. He graduate in philosophy, he deal with cultural training and he founded the Cultural Centre La Casa Zoiosa in Milan. He curated for Einaudi, Laterza and Rizzoli books about religious topic. From 1990 he collaborates with Comunità Nuova onlus for which in the last years he curates the institutional communication, working nearby don Gino Rigoldi.
Marco Morelli, born in Rome in 1961, from the 14th September 2020 is Executive Chairman AXA Investment Managers and member of the Management Committee of AXA.
CEO and General Manager of Banca Monte dei Paschi from September 2016 until May 2020. He previously covered different executive roles within the group also as Deputy General Manager from the end of 2003 to January 2010.
Before that, from the October 2012 he has been vice Chairman in the Bank of America Merrill Lynch for the EU, the Middle East and Africa and CEO in the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Italy.
Previously he has been the vicar CEO in Intesa Sanpaolo and CEO in the JP Morgan Italy after working for a long period for different international organisations. He is professor at the financial and economics at the LUISS in Rome where he graduated “cum laude”, accountant and auditor. He was member of the managing boars of the F2i, Beni Stabili, Univeristà LUISS Rome, Hopa, and member of the executive board of ABI.

CEI represents Italy for the legislation in electrical and telecommunication area at European and global level. He directed several companies in the utility area, president of a cultural association of national importance, he is on the board of directors in several associations and companies; he does volunteering for non-profit associations.
Marco De Martini, born in Venice in 1961, married, 3 children. Graduated in Economics and Commerce from Bocconi University, returned to Italy after a work experience in an American multinational, he founded and managed Tecniconsult.
Later he joined the company founded by his grandfather and held the position of CEO of the Italian and Indian companies of the group.
Mariella Enoc was appointed by the Vatican last February president of the Children’s Hospital Bambino Gesù, of which she was already member of the administrative board. Sha was born in Novara in 1944, after classical studies and the medical school, she has always dealt with administration and management of healthcare facilities. She is special prosecutor of the “Cottolengo” Hospital in Turin and of the Valduce Hospital in Como. Sha was president of Confindustria Piemonte. Now she is vice president of the Cariplo Foundation, president of the Ismu Foundation and of the Don Mario Operti Foundation.

Walter Saettone, born in Trino Vercellese in 1964, majored in engineering at the Politecnico in Turin, he worked in companies in the technology and energy sector.
Adrio Maria de Carolis, married, three children. He is a businessman and he founded, developed and managed many successful activities, including some stock market-listed companies (Datanord Multimedia, SoldiOnline, Audinet, CairoWeb, Doubleclick Italy, www.meteo.it, Mowgli). He is now the CEO of SWG Spa. In February 1999, the magazine “Fortune” devoted him the cover identifying him as an “example of young European successful businessman in digital economy”.

Former Member of the Boards of Directors of Mediobanca (Executive Committee member), RCS Editori, RAS Italia, Impregilo. He is Vice President of the European Institute of Oncology and President of the Monzino Cardiological Center.
The BIR Onlus association was founded in 1999 in Milan by don Gino Rigoldi with a group of citizens together with some local organisations of the private social. The association has two main purpose. On one side the protection of children’s rights in Romania, Moldova and Italy, with specific attentions to minors who live in fragile situations due to abandonment issues and social marginalisation. On the other side promoting the civic participation and active citizenship, with proposal for training and activation for young people and adults. Crossing over the national and international boards, Bir cooperate actively with people, organisations and institutions, at local and international level, creating path of changing inspired by participation and sustainability.
Comunità Nuova Onlus works in contexts of social distress and supports the resources of the youngest. It’s chaired by don Gino Rigoldi, chaplain of the juvenile detention centre “Cesare Beccaria” in Milan. It was founded in 1973 thanks to a group of volunteers who took the initiative; in 2014 its activities involved in Milan and its province, more than 33.000 people. Comunità Nuova does social measures in this areas: addiction and consumption; minors, promotion of childhood and families; young people and adolescents; migrant; sport; training for educational relationship for adults, teachers and families; detention and penal; social secretariat.
