The Youth Workshop is a meeting place where education, creativity, relationships, and guidance come together. We focus specifically on young people between the ages of 13 and 18: an age group that often stays away from traditional services but has a strong need for someone to listen and for support, even when they don’t show it. The concept behind the Youth Workshop stems from years of fieldwork in Rozzano. We aim to provide young people with both physical and symbolic spaces where they can gather, grow, and build community. We do not merely wish to continue the work already underway, but to enrich and diversify it, so as to respond in an increasingly targeted manner to the needs of young people, families, schools, and the local community.
Among the Workshop’s objectives:
– Combating early school leaving and supporting families: through homework spaces and academic support for secondary school students, as well as regular meetings between educators and teachers and between parents and educators, we aim to reduce school dropout rates and academic failure.
– Networking and local collaboration: improving relationships and cooperation between schools, social services, and third-sector organizations
– Promoting well-being and youth leadership: through self-managed workshops co-designed directly with the young people, as well as the organization of sports tournaments, excursions, and field trips.
– Active citizenship and awareness: fostering critical thinking, individual and community responsibility, and greater knowledge and awareness of the world of work.
Beneficiaries: The Youth Workshop reaches approximately 200 boys and girls aged 11 to 20 each year.
