The social housing project provides temporary housing for people who are experiencing a period of vulnerability or social disadvantage and who are at risk of marginalization due to limited personal or financial resources. Among the guests are single mothers with minor children, young people with immigrant backgrounds facing significant difficulties in finding housing, families in conditions of socio-economic vulnerability, former inmates, and young adults who do not yet have sufficient income to support themselves. For each of them, a housing contract is formalized that guarantees fundamental rights, such as access to housing, regularization of their residence permit, health care, and access to local social services.

The project’s goal is not simply to provide a roof over their heads to address an emergency, but to guide people toward true independence. Through personalized educational support, residents are encouraged to improve their personal circumstances and become active participants in building their own future stability. This path toward self-sufficiency has a flexible duration depending on individual needs: on average, the stay lasts around three years, but it can extend up to five years for those coming from situations of illegal housing who must wait for the legal processing times required to access public housing lotteries.

Beneficiaries: single mothers with minor children, young people with a migrant background facing significant difficulties in finding housing, families in conditions of socio-economic vulnerability, former inmates, and young adults who do not yet have sufficient income to support themselves. There are 15 available housing units in the Giambellino, San Siro, and Stadera neighborhoods of Milan.
