The Social Secretariat of Comunità Nuova Onlus is a point of contact for people and families in situations of socio-economic fragility in Milan’s Municipality 6.

Often, people in trouble do not trust the Institutional Services due to diffidence, lack of adequate tools or because they are unable to formulate a request according to the expected procedures. The goal of the Social Secretariat is to position itself as a structured service that responds in an integrated and continuous way to the needs of the most vulnerable segments of the population. In fact, the activities of the Secretariat are different: from the distribution of basic necessities to individual interviews to understand people’s needs, to the construction of insertion and job search paths or training courses, to the accompaniment of non-EU foreign citizens for their regularization and assistance for health and economic-social practices.

Objectives:

• Increase the number of families with documents
• Facilitate the knowledge, understanding, access and use of services both public and the territorial network of families in poverty
• Increase the ability of families in poverty to meet the household’s basic necessities
• Increase the knowledge of opportunities for access to training and re-employment paths
• Increase the knowledge and use of opportunities in the area at the school, training, socio-educational level for minors and families

Beneficiaries: people and/or families with low income and in a precarious situation who live in the Giambellino – Lorenteggio neighborhood and in Milan’s Municipality 6.
