With BIR’s “Volunteer Camps” we offer boys and girls aged 16 and older international volunteer experiences. The volunteer camps last two weeks and volunteers are in touch every day with children, girls, people with disabilities and communities in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with local associations.

They are experiences that allow young people to create positive relationships with their peers and to test themselves as protagonists of change in an international and multicultural dimension.

Objectives:

• To provide leadership experiences that give young people greater confidence in their ability to make a meaningful contribution to the world
• To provide opportunities for the young people involved to build positive relationships and be part of a community of peers
• To provide support for foreign partners through support of their social and volunteer activities and exchange and support among volunteer groups
• To provide opportunities for growth and skill development for the young people involved in the activities

Beneficiaries: volunteers and youth in Italy aged 16 and over, volunteers and youth from partner associations in Romania, Republic of Moldova and Georgia. Indirect beneficiaries include: minors from juvenile institutions, day care centers, rural villages and juvenile penal institutions in addition to the communities the site of the volunteer activities.
